I received a lovely painting and instructions in the post. I was asked to choose or make a small object, and have it interact with the painting.

I was thinking about how a painting exists in time, and the light that reaches it throughout the day. Can light be an object?

It reminded me of a portal, something to journey through. In nearby Wandlebury there is a long avenue of beech trees, and I had recorded the sound of a walk there - a contact mic feeling the steps and heartbeat. Can sound be an object? The birds started their dawn chorus when I was setting up to record the time lapse footage. I mixed these together to make a sound journey, alongside the images.
